This creamy pea salad is made with frozen peas to keep your salad cool while traveling to your next summer cookout.
Ingredients for Creamy Pea Salad
- Frozen Peas – I use frozen peas for a reason. This helps to keep the entire salad cool when transporting! No one wants to worry about getting sick with warm mayonnaise. If you plan to eat immediately, then thaw the peas prior to mixing.
- Bacon – if I can add bacon to something I will!
- Cheddar Cheese – cut into cubes about the size of a pea. You can also use shredded cheese.
- Red Onion – diced. If you want to mellow out the flavor of the raw onion soak it in some ice water for 5-10 minutes.
- Mayonnaise – for a nice and creamy base
- Apple Cider Vinegar – for a tiny bit of a tant
- Salt + Pepper – to taste
How to Make Creamy Pea Salad
- In a bowl combine mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, salt and pepper. Mix well.
- Fold in frozen peas, cooked bacon, cubed cheese, and diced red onion.
