Easy Swedish Meatball

These Swedish meatballs are easy to make and smothered in an easy gravy and is the perfect weeknight dinner!

Our family absolutely loves meatballs, so finding different ways to incorporate them is always a great way to mix things up. This swedish meatball recipe makes life easy with the creamy gravy. I often use store bought meatballs instead of making homemade versions to make weeknight dinner much easier.

Easy Swedish Meatball Ingredients

  • Butter: forms the base of the gravy mixture.
  • Flour: to thicken the gravy base.
  • Beef Broth: this can be swapped out for chicken broth as well.
  • Worcestershire Sauce: adds depth of flavor to the gravy.
  • Dijon: adds a little acidity to the gravy.
  • Seasonings: salt and pepper
  • Sour Cream: adds creamy texture to the the sauce, can be swapped for heavy cream.
  • Meatballs: store bought or homemade

How to Make Swedish Meatballs

  • Cook meatballs according directions.
  • While the meatballs are cooking melt butter in a large skillet. Add in butter and whisk to combine. Cook over medium heat for 2 minutes.
  • Add beef broth to the butter and flour mixture. Mix to combine and cook over medium heat until the sauce has thickened.
  • Add in dijon mustard, Worcestershire, sour cream, salt, and pepper.
  • Add in cooked meatballs and simmer together for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes to really take advantage of the delicious sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tablespoon Butter
  • 4 tablespoon Flour
  • 3 cups Beef Broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • ½ cup Sour Cream:
  • 1 ½ lb Meatballs storebought or homemade
