About
Hello! I'm Kayla
I'm a food blogger, recipe developer, content creator, cookbook author, and former high school math teacher living on our 4th Generation Farm in Northern Idaho with my husband, Clayton, and our two boys.
Here on The Farmstyle, you'll find simple recipes your family will actually want to eat. From cozy homemade breads and easy weeknight dinners to garden-inspired recipes, ranch-life meals, and sweet treats worth turning the oven on for.
My goal is simple: to help you make good food at home without overcomplicating it.

Farmstyle Cooks: Simple Recipes Your Family Will Love
A cookbook filled with approachable, family-friendly recipes made for real homes and real schedules.
My Story
What started as sharing simple meals online slowly turned into something much bigger. After becoming a mom and stepping away from teaching, I found myself cooking constantly for my family and sharing those recipes with other busy families who wanted real food that felt doable.
Over time, this little corner of the internet grew into The Farmstyle, a place where I share family-friendly recipes, baking projects, garden-to-table ideas, and the everyday life that happens between school runs, garden checks, cattle chores, and dinner on the table.
I'm not here to make food fussy. I'm here to make it feel possible.

Ready to get cooking?

my food philosophy
I believe food should be approachable, comforting, and made with real ingredients you can actually find at the grocery store.
Around here, that means homemade bread, beef dinners, cozy casseroles, fresh garden produce, skillet meals, biscuits, butter, and the occasional dessert that absolutely earns its spot on the table.
I cook with my family in mind, a meat-and-potatoes husband, two growing boys, and a real-life schedule that doesn't leave hours for dinner every night.
