Prep Time:2 hours hrs
Cook Time:30 minutes mins
Course: Side Dish
Keyword: bread
Servings: 12

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 1/4 tsp yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk warmed
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cups milk

Cheesy Tree

  • 8 mozzarella sticks cut into quarters
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese shredded
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 4 tbsp butter melted

Instructions

Make the Dough

  • Combine 1/4 cup warmed milk with yeast and sugar. Set aside until foamy.
  • In a large bowl (I use my stand mixer) combine remaining ingredients, except milk.
  • Add in milk and yeast mixture and 3/4 cups milk. Mix together, adding in remaining milk if needed.
  • Knead mixture for 7-10 minutes. Shape into a ball, place back into bowl, and let rise for an hour, until doubled.
  • Make the Cheesy Tree
  • Place dough onto counter and divide into 30 sections (roughly 1 oz each).
  • Flatten each dough piece out and place one quarter piece of a mozzarella stick in the middle. Gently shape into a round ball.
  • Take each ball and arrange into a tree shape. I did 5 layers in a triangle shape. Placed one ball on the very top for the star (you can also use a cookie cutter to make a star shape) and one ball at the bottom for the trunk. Cover and let rise for about another hour.
  • Combine butter and garlic and brush onto tree. Top with shredded mozzarella and dried parsley.
  • Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes.
  • Serve with marinara sauce and enjoy!

Another article used this picture for “top holiday treat ideas” or something and didn’t even have the recipe or link to it so I went on an insane search to find this. So glad I did. A little iffy about the dough (I have texture issues and usually use premade dough) but I’m so excited I’ll give it a try.

Comment GRILL for both the recipes!

Grill girl summer is officially underway 🔥☀️

Turns out grilling is a whole lot less intimidating when you realize it’s basically just an outdoor oven with better flavor. Thanks @traegergrills.

Tri-tip for dinner, mixed berry cobbler for dessert, and not heating up the kitchen in the process? That feels like a win to me.

Also, respectfully, we are no longer leaving the grilling to the boys this summer.

This one is for those who don’t really like cake.

Homemade fresh mint chip ice cream, a fudgy cookie layer, and cookies & cream ice cream all stacked into one very perfect ice cream cake.

One of my favorite things about making desserts from scratch is getting to create flavor combinations you can’t always find at the store.

And honestly, that’s the fun of homemade, making exactly what you wish existed.

20 minute homemade ice cream?! This is going to be the best summer ever!

Watch me creating every flavor combo of my dreams this summer.

What should I try first?

One of my favorite things about making things homemade is getting to create something you wish existed in the world.

I wanted the nostalgic crunch of those strawberry cheesecake ice cream bars… but with raspberry and an actual cheesecake twist. So naturally I had to make it happen.

And honestly? This might be one of those recipes that makes you stop after the first bite and think, where has this been my whole life?

Sweet, creamy, crunchy, raspberry perfection.

Would you try raspberry over strawberry? 👇
