This dump and bake chicken parmesan pasta is an easy one pan dinner made with chicken, pasta, tomato sauce, and cheese. A simple chicken parm casserole perfect for busy weeknights.

This Dump and Bake Chicken Parmesan Pasta is the ultimate easy dinner recipe when you want all the classic flavors of chicken parmesan without the extra steps. Everything comes together in one pan with no pre-cooking required. Just dump, bake, and enjoy.

Juicy chicken, tender pasta, rich tomato sauce, and melty cheese are finished with a crispy breadcrumb topping for that classic chicken parm texture. It’s cozy, family-friendly, and perfect for busy weeknights when you need something simple but satisfying.

Why You’ll Love This Dump and Bake Chicken Parmesan

  • True dump and bake recipe with minimal prep
  • No need to pre-cook the pasta or chicken
  • One pan means easy cleanup
  • Classic chicken parmesan flavors in casserole form
  • Perfect for busy weeknights or meal prep

Ingredient Breakdown

  • Chicken Breast – Cut into bite-sized pieces so it cooks evenly in the oven. You can also use chicken thighs for a juicier option.
  • Pasta – Cavatappi works great for holding onto the sauce, but penne, rotini, or ziti are all great substitutes.
  • Diced Tomatoes and Tomatoe Sauce – Using both adds texture and depth to the sauce. The combination creates a rich, balanced base without needing extra steps.
  • Chicken Broth – Helps cook the pasta directly in the dish while adding extra flavor.
  • Italian Seasoning, Garlic Powder, Salt, and Pepper – Simple pantry spices that bring everything together and give that classic chicken parmesan flavor.
  • Mozzarella Cheese – Creates that gooey, melty layer on top.
  • Parmesan Cheese – Adds a salty, nutty finish that enhances the overall flavor.
  • Breadcrumbs – Provide a crispy topping that mimics traditional breaded chicken parmesan.

How to Make Dump and Bake Chicken Parmesan Pasta

Step 1: Combine Ingredients

Preheat your oven to 400°F.

In a 9×13 baking dish, add uncooked pasta, cubed chicken, chopped tomatoes, strained tomatoes, chicken broth, and all seasonings. Stir everything together until well combined.

Step 2: Bake Covered

Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 45 minutes. This allows the pasta to cook and the chicken to become tender.

Step 3: Add Toppings

Remove the foil and stir gently if needed.

Top with shredded mozzarella, breadcrumbs, and grated parmesan cheese.

Step 4: Bake Until Golden

Return the dish to the oven uncovered and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the topping is golden and crispy.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy

Let the casserole sit for a few minutes before serving to allow everything to set. Serve warm and enjoy.

Tips for the Best Chicken Parmesan Pasta Bake

  • Make sure the pasta is fully submerged in liquid before baking
  • Cut chicken into even pieces for consistent cooking
  • Cover tightly to trap steam and properly cook the pasta
  • Broil for 1 to 2 minutes at the end for extra crispy topping

Easy Variations

  • Add spinach or zucchini for extra veggies
  • Use gluten-free pasta if needed
  • Swap mozzarella for provolone for a deeper flavor
  • Add red pepper flakes for a little heat
  • Use pre-cooked rotisserie chicken and reduce bake time slightly

What to Serve with Chicken Parmesan Pasta

This dish pairs perfectly with:

  • Garlic bread
  • Caesar salad
  • Roasted vegetables
  • Simple side salad

Final Thoughts

This Dump and Bake Chicken Parmesan Pasta is the definition of easy comfort food. With simple ingredients and minimal prep, you get all the flavors of a classic chicken parmesan in a one-pan meal.

Girls day, but make it a little messy, a little creative, and a lot delicious.

I hosted the sweetest paint + pot afternoon with my friends. Just us, some blank pots, and zero pressure to be “good” at anything except having fun.

We painted, we laughed, we caught up on life… and of course, we ate really well:
🍋 Lemon blueberry cake
🍯 Garlic honey chicken with fresh peach salsa
🥙 Greek salad hummus bites

It’s wild how something this simple can fill your cup so much. No big production, just intentional time together, and honestly, we need more of that.

10/10 recommend hosting your girls, even if it’s not perfect. Especially if it’s not perfect 🤍

Who’s coming next time? 🫶
