These make ahead mashed potatoes are the perfect side to bring to your holiday dinner!

These make ahead mashed potatoes are my favorite! They are super creamy with butter, cream cheese, and heavy cream and can be made up the day before to eliminate one less thing you have to make the day of! Even better, you can add them to my favorite casserole crock pot (affiliate link) and not use up any oven space the day of!

Prep Time:30 minutes mins
Cook Time:1 hour hr
Course: Side Dish
Keyword: crockpot, potato
Servings: 8 people

Equipment

  • 1 Casserole Crockpot

Ingredients

  • 5 lbs potatoes I like Yukon gold or russet
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Instructions

  • * Peel and cut the potatoes into cubes.
  • * Place potatoes into a pot of water and boil for 20-30 minutes or until you can easily poke a fork in them.
  • * Drain the potatoes and place back in the pot or a large bowl.
  • * Mash the potatoes to allow some of the steam to release, then add in 1/2 cup butter, cream cheese, and heavy cream.
  • * Mash potatoes until desired consistency has been reached. If you prefer a super smooth consistency use a hand mixer to beat the potatoes.
  • * Add in salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Mix to combine.
  • * Store in refrigerator until day off.

OVEN METHOD

  • * Place potatoes in a baking dish and top with remaining butter, cut into cubes.
  • * Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes or until warm throughout.

CROCKPOT METHOD

  • * Place potatoes into crockpot and top with remaining butter, cut into cubes.
  • * Cook on high for 2-3 hours or until warm throughout.

This chicken bacon ranch skillet is an easy go to dinner that my entire family loves! I love to cook it on my @blackstoneproducts griddle, but it can also be done in a skillet on the stove (you’ll just need to cook in batches).

Let me know in the comments if you are ready for all of the outdoor cooking recipes for summer!

These coffees are worth it! But thankfully I’m not paying $7 for them at home!

Garden hack you didn’t know you needed 🌱💧

I added a super simple PVC watering system to my raised beds and it has made watering SO much easier (and way more efficient).

Perfect for hot summer days, busy schedules, or if you just want a low-maintenance garden setup.

Save this for later + let me know if you want the full how-to! 👇🏼

Girls day, but make it a little messy, a little creative, and a lot delicious.

I hosted the sweetest paint + pot afternoon with my friends. Just us, some blank pots, and zero pressure to be “good” at anything except having fun.

We painted, we laughed, we caught up on life… and of course, we ate really well:
🍋 Lemon blueberry cake
🍯 Garlic honey chicken with fresh peach salsa
🥙 Greek salad hummus bites

It’s wild how something this simple can fill your cup so much. No big production, just intentional time together, and honestly, we need more of that.

10/10 recommend hosting your girls, even if it’s not perfect. Especially if it’s not perfect 🤍

Who’s coming next time? 🫶
