- Apple Cider – adds extra apple flavor to the batter. Can swap for apple juice also.
- Apple Butter – apple butter is one of my FAVORITE apple recipes. It is thick and delicious. If you can’t find or don’t have apple butter you can swap for applesauce
- Vanilla Extract – I really don’t think you can go wrong with adding vanilla extract to a baking recipe.
- Butter – I use salted melted butter in this recipe. The melted butter just makes everything easier to combine by hand.
- Eggs – help to bring everything together.
- Brown Sugar – I love to use brown sugar in anything fall baking.
- Flour – regular all purpose works!
- Baking Soda + Baking Powder – helps the bread rise
- Salt + Cinnamon – adds even more flavor
- Cream Cheese – room temperature makes the cream cheese easier to work with. If I forgot to bring the cream cheese out I will put it into a small bowl and microwave it enough to soften it.
- Apples – diced into small pieces. You can remove the skin if you don’t like the texture, but we don’t mind leaving them on.

- Preheat oven to 325.
- In a large bowl combine butter and sugar.
- Add in eggs, vanilla extract, and apple cider. Mix to combine.
- Add in flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Mix to combine.
- In a prepared loaf pan, pour half of the batter. Top with dollops of cream cheese creating an even layer. Then top with diced apples.
- Layer remaining batter on top of apples.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes.
- Allow to cool before slicing (if you can).
