Ingredients & Substitution Ideas
Sliders
- Hawaiian Rolls – Soft, slightly sweet rolls balance the savory filling perfectly. Slider buns or dinner rolls can also be used.
- Ground Beef – A budget-friendly and easy option. You can swap for thinly sliced steak for a more traditional Philly cheesesteak flavor.
- Bell Pepper & Onion – Classic cheesesteak vegetables that add sweetness and texture.
- Worcestershire Sauce – Adds rich, savory depth to the beef.
- Salt & Pepper – Simple seasoning that lets the beef shine.
- Provolone Cheese – The classic choice for Philly cheesesteaks. White American or mozzarella are great substitutes.
Herbed Butter Mixture
- Butter – Brushed over the rolls to create a golden, flavorful top.
- Dried Parsley – Adds color and mild herb flavor.
- Garlic Powder – Enhances the buttery topping with savory warmth.

How to Make Philly Cheesesteak Sliders
Start by sautéing the diced peppers and onions in a large skillet with a bit of oil until softened. Add the ground beef and cook until fully browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce, then remove from heat.
Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and place them on a baking sheet. Broil for a few minutes until lightly toasted—this helps prevent soggy sliders.
Layer the beef and vegetable mixture evenly over the bottom half of the rolls. Top with provolone cheese, then place the top half of the rolls back on.
In a small bowl, combine melted butter, dried parsley, and garlic powder. Brush the mixture generously over the tops of the rolls.
Bake at 350°F for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the tops are golden brown. Slice and serve warm.

Tips for the Best Sliders
- Toasting the rolls helps keep them from getting soggy
- Cover loosely with foil if the tops brown too quickly
- Let the sliders rest for a few minutes before slicing for cleaner cuts
- Add mushrooms or hot peppers for extra flavor
