When it comes to breakfast or brunch, few things compare to the comforting combination of French toast and peach pie. If you’re in search of a mouthwatering recipe that will leave your taste buds tingling, look no further! Peach Pie Stuffed French Toast is a breakfast masterpiece that will make your weekend morning breakfast that much more special.
Creating the Irresistible Peach Filling
The key to making Peach Pie Stuffed French Toast lies in the heavenly peach filling. I made a simple homemade filling, but a store bought peach pie filling could do! For my filling I sliced the peaches and cooked them over medium heat with brown sugar, butter, cinnamon and vanilla. A pinch of nutmeg would also add nice warmth to the filling, but I like to keep it simple.
Assembling the Stuffed French Toast
To assemble the Peach Pie Stuffed French Toast, take two slices of thick bread, such as brioche or challah. Spread a generous layer of cream cheese on each slice. Next, spoon a generous amount of the peach filling onto one slice of bread, spreading it evenly. Carefully place the second slice on top to create a sandwich-like structure. Press the slices together gently to ensure the filling stays intact.
Then dip each side of the sandwich into an egg mixture of eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon. Soaking the bread for 30-60 seconds on each side. In a skillet melt butter and cook your French toast for a few minutes on each side, ensuring it is nice and golden brown before flipping.
Serving Suggestions
Once cooked to perfection, your Peach Pie Stuffed French Toast is ready to be served. Dust the tops with powdered sugar for a touch of elegance. For a truly decadent experience, drizzle the French toast with maple syrup, caramel sauce, or even a homemade peach syrup. Pile on some fresh peach slices and a dollop of whipped cream to enhance the presentation and add a refreshing element to each bite.
