Meet the Banana Bread Latte—a rich, sweet, and comforting coffee made with homemade banana bread syrup, creamy milk, and a luxurious maple cold foam topping. Whether you’re easing into a slow morning or craving an afternoon treat, this latte is the perfect blend of cozy and caffeinated.

The best part? You don’t need fancy equipment or store-bought syrups. This latte is made with simple pantry staples and real bananas for that unmistakable banana bread flavor.

Why You’ll Love This Banana Bread Latte

  • 🍌 Real banana flavor thanks to a quick homemade syrup using ripe bananas
  • 🍞 Tastes like banana bread in a cup—warm, comforting, and slightly spiced
  • ☕ Espresso-based for that bold coffee hit
  • 🍁 Maple cold foam adds a smooth, buttery finish
  • 🧊 Easy to make iced or hot and totally customizable

Ingredients You’ll Need

Banana Bread Syrup

  • Ripe bananas – The riper, the better! Overripe bananas add rich flavor and natural sweetness.
  • Brown sugar & granulated sugar – A mix of sugars gives the syrup depth and caramel-like undertones.
  • Water – Helps blend the bananas into a smooth syrup base.
  • Cinnamon – Adds that signature banana bread warmth.
  • Vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste – Enhances the flavor with a bakery-style aroma.
  • Salt – Just a pinch to balance the sweetness.

Latte Base

  • Espresso – 2 shots of your favorite espresso or strong brewed coffee.
  • Banana bread syrup – 1–2 tablespoons depending on how sweet and flavorful you like it.
  • Milk – Whole milk, oat milk, or your favorite dairy-free option.

Maple Cold Foam

  • Heavy cream + milk – Whisked into a thick, velvety foam.
  • Maple syrup – Sweetens the foam with cozy, buttery flavor that complements the banana notes beautifully.

How to Make a Banana Bread Latte

1. Make the Banana Bread Syrup

Blend ripe bananas with water until smooth. Pour into a saucepan and add both sugars and cinnamon. Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer for 10–15 minutes until thickened and aromatic. Stir in the vanilla and salt. Let cool and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2–3 weeks.

2. Make the Maple Cold Foam

In a small cup, whisk together heavy cream, milk, and maple syrup using a handheld frother until thick and fluffy. Set aside.

3. Assemble the Latte

In a large glass filled with ice, add banana bread syrup, milk, and freshly brewed espresso. Top with the maple cold foam and enjoy your sippable slice of banana bread!

Want It Hot?

No problem!

  • Steam or heat your milk
  • Skip the ice
  • Combine syrup, espresso, and milk in a mug
  • Top with warm maple foam or whipped cream

Optional Toppings:

  • A sprinkle of cinnamon
  • Crushed walnuts or pecans
  • A mini banana bread slice on the rim (for the gram!)
  • Caramel drizzle for extra indulgence

These French Onion Scones are flaky, savory, and packed with caramelized onions, Gruyère cheese, and fresh thyme.

Ingredients
For the Scones:
2½ cups all purpose flour
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp baking powder
12 tbsp cold butter grated
1 egg
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup gruyere cheese shredded
1 tsp thyme
1/4 cup heavy cream
flakey salt

French Onions
2 onions
2 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp thyme
2 cloves garlic minced
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar

Instructions
French Onions
Add butter to skillet. Once hot and melted, add the onions, salt and pepper, and allow them to cook down and deeply caramelize for about 20 to 25 minutes, stirring frequently, until the onions become very dark, soft and jammy.
Add in the garlic, Worcestershire, and balsamic vinegar, and allow it to bubble up and reduce for about 30 seconds. Allow mixture to simmer until reduced.
Set aside to cool.
Scones
Preheat oven to 350℉. In a large mixing bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt.
With a cheese grater, grate your cold butter and mix into dry ingredients with your hands until it reaches a crumbly texture.
Create a well in the center of your bowl and add egg and buttermilk. Mix until just combined.
Fold in shredded cheese and french onions; you want the dough to be just sticky enough to stick to your hands.
Pour mixture onto a floured surface and shape into a circle. Cut into 6-8 scones, the same way you would a pizza. Then place onto a parchment lined baking sheet.
Brush with heavy cream, sprinkle with flakey salt and bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until lightly golden on edges.
