Milk & Cookies 1st Birthday Party Theme

When I was planning Weston’s first birthday party I wanted a fun and creative theme. While browsing Pinterest I found both a Farmer’s Market and Milk and Cookie theme. However, neither really fit my vision of what I wanted to do. I loved the idea of a Farmer’s Market for our little farm family, but I also selfishly wanted to throw in the Milk and Cookie theme to inadvertently celebrate making it to a year of breastfeeding (don’t worry, we used cows milk for everything!).

All of the milk and cookie inspirations I found involved Cookie Monster. No offense to the OG cookie man, but that wasn’t the vision I was going for. So, I decided to mix the feel of a farmer’s market with a milk and cookie theme. Custom farmer’s market style labels with pops of blue and cow print. I think what really made this theme so sweet were the little custom touches added. I purchased these large milk bottles and small milk bottles and added waterproof labels that I printed myself. In addition, I made my famous jumbo cookies and packaged them up with the same labels.

Something I always love to add are balloon garlands! They are such a great statement piece. I usually DIY them, but this time I decided to grab one from a local shop What’s Poppin Balloons (if you are local I highly recommend them) and add this cute banner.

I know with browsing Pinterest or Instagram for party inspiration it can get overwhelming (and expensive)! My key to keeping the cost down is to chose one location to really go all out for decorating. This gives a great photo opportunities, allows you to minimize how many decorations you actually need, and draws all of the attention to that one focal area.

Let me know down in the comments what your favorite birthday themes have been? This one has for sure been a favorite because I was able to get really creative with it!

I love the idea of the milk and cookie theme birthday. Where did you find the design for the labels on the milk jugs?

I made them in Canva and then printed the labels at home!

Comment HERBS for all the planter.

My @greenstalkgarden herb garden might be my favorite thing in the garden right now.

There’s something so special about stepping outside and grabbing fresh herbs for dinner. Basil, dill, rosemary, mint, all the herbs my heart desires.

Comment GRILL for both the recipes!

Grill girl summer is officially underway 🔥☀️

Turns out grilling is a whole lot less intimidating when you realize it’s basically just an outdoor oven with better flavor. Thanks @traegergrills.

Tri-tip for dinner, mixed berry cobbler for dessert, and not heating up the kitchen in the process? That feels like a win to me.

Also, respectfully, we are no longer leaving the grilling to the boys this summer.

This one is for those who don’t really like cake.

Homemade fresh mint chip ice cream, a fudgy cookie layer, and cookies & cream ice cream all stacked into one very perfect ice cream cake.

One of my favorite things about making desserts from scratch is getting to create flavor combinations you can’t always find at the store.

And honestly, that’s the fun of homemade, making exactly what you wish existed.
