On the Go and Tractor Friendly Snacks

It's officially time for me to start thinking about packing lunches for Clayton again. I always struggle with ideas for what to pack along side his typical sandwich, so I went to Instagram to ask for ideas! I decided to share them over here on the blog so that they had a more permanent place to stay. I also wanted to include a way for you to pin this to your Pinterest board! So head here for a graphic to pin, or click the "pin it" button at the top of this page.

I earn a small commission on the included affiliate links.

I hope this list gives you a few ideas to make it through the long haying + harvest + fall work season that consumes June - October for us. I plan on selecting a few items from each category each week so that I'm able to keep a nice selection in the lunches and hopefully they don't become too repetitive.

Fruits/Vegetables Ensuring that they are pre-cut will make them easier for on the go eating, so I recommend doing that! These cups are a great idea for include dips such a ranch as well. Here are some of our favorites I will be preparing.

  • baby carrots
  • sliced cucumbers
  • cherry tomatos
  • apples
  • peaches
  • bananas
  • strawberries
  • oranges

Meat/Cheese were great ideas for some protein packed snacks. Here are a few ideas to pack

  • Tillamook Cheese Squares - you can also just cut the cheese into squares yourself
  • Meat Sticks - I chose to get a few of the Chomps brand
  • Cheese and Crackers - I'm going to get some Ritz, Triscuits, and cheddar or pepperjack to slice up. I may even try my hand at making some sourdough crackers.
  • Salami - I love the idea of putting together a little lunchable with cheese, crackers, and meat. These containers would work perfectly!
  • Pretzels - We love the Dot's Brand
  • Jerky - We have been getting the Golden Island brand at Costco, but really any is good!

Nuts/Granola - There are so many options here

Chips - you can't leave these out. I've been buying big bags and portioning them out into smaller bags. A little cheaper, but I often buy the snack size bags.

Pasta Salad - we love ranch bacon and Italian versions, but again so many options here.

I would love to know what snacks/sides you like to add to lunches? I am always open to more ideas!
