It’s officially time for me to start thinking about packing lunches for Clayton again. I always struggle with ideas for what to pack along side his typical sandwich, so I went to Instagram to ask for ideas! I decided to share them over here on the blog so that they had a more permanent place to stay. I also wanted to include a way for you to pin this to your Pinterest board! So head here for a graphic to pin, or click the “pin it” button at the top of this page.

I earn a small commission on the included affiliate links.

I hope this list gives you a few ideas to make it through the long haying + harvest + fall work season that consumes June – October for us. I plan on selecting a few items from each category each week so that I’m able to keep a nice selection in the lunches and hopefully they don’t become too repetitive.

Fruits/Vegetables Ensuring that they are pre-cut will make them easier for on the go eating, so I recommend doing that! These cups are a great idea for include dips such a ranch as well. Here are some of our favorites I will be preparing.

  • baby carrots
  • sliced cucumbers
  • cherry tomatos
  • apples
  • peaches
  • bananas
  • strawberries
  • oranges

Meat/Cheese were great ideas for some protein packed snacks. Here are a few ideas to pack

  • Tillamook Cheese Squares – you can also just cut the cheese into squares yourself
  • Meat Sticks – I chose to get a few of the Chomps brand
  • Cheese and Crackers – I’m going to get some Ritz, Triscuits, and cheddar or pepperjack to slice up. I may even try my hand at making some sourdough crackers.
  • Salami – I love the idea of putting together a little lunchable with cheese, crackers, and meat. These containers would work perfectly!
  • Pretzels – We love the Dot’s Brand
  • Jerky – We have been getting the Golden Island brand at Costco, but really any is good!

Nuts/Granola – There are so many options here

  • granola bars – I’m putting together a blog post with our favorite homemade granola bars that are so yummy, but you can buy your favorite at the store.
  • trail mix – I love putting together different types of trail mixes. The options are endless, here are a few of our personal favorites.
    • Breakfast Blend
    • S’mores Blend
    • Traditional Blend
    • Coastal Berry Blend
    • Cajun Blend
    • Peanut Butter Blend
  • Almonds – we love these smokehouse ones
  • Cashews – another simple favorite
  • Protein Packs – something like the P3, or put together your own in these containers.

Chips – you can’t leave these out. I’ve been buying big bags and portioning them out into smaller bags. A little cheaper, but I often buy the snack size bags.

Pasta Salad – we love ranch bacon and Italian versions, but again so many options here.

I would love to know what snacks/sides you like to add to lunches? I am always open to more ideas!

Comment GRILL for both the recipes!

Grill girl summer is officially underway 🔥☀️

Turns out grilling is a whole lot less intimidating when you realize it’s basically just an outdoor oven with better flavor. Thanks @traegergrills.

Tri-tip for dinner, mixed berry cobbler for dessert, and not heating up the kitchen in the process? That feels like a win to me.

Also, respectfully, we are no longer leaving the grilling to the boys this summer.

This one is for those who don’t really like cake.

Homemade fresh mint chip ice cream, a fudgy cookie layer, and cookies & cream ice cream all stacked into one very perfect ice cream cake.

One of my favorite things about making desserts from scratch is getting to create flavor combinations you can’t always find at the store.

And honestly, that’s the fun of homemade, making exactly what you wish existed.

Chocolate in every possible form 🍫

Save this for your next baking day, because narrowing it down to just one is not happening.

Which are you making first?

20 minute homemade ice cream?! This is going to be the best summer ever!

Watch me creating every flavor combo of my dreams this summer.

What should I try first?

Comment CHEESECAKE for all the recipe details.

One of my favorite things about making things homemade is getting to create something you wish existed in the world.

I wanted the nostalgic crunch of those strawberry cheesecake ice cream bars… but with raspberry and an actual cheesecake twist. So naturally I had to make it happen.

And honestly? This might be one of those recipes that makes you stop after the first bite and think, where has this been my whole life?

Sweet, creamy, crunchy, raspberry perfection.

Would you try raspberry over strawberry? 👇
